hair
Blimey days you would of thought men would have clocked on that a good haircut is probably one of the simplest things to make a dramatic difference in how you feel and how other people perceive you. Virtually all makeover programs including the rebooted Queer Eye on Netflix take on the hair as an object of focus and change.
A heck of a lot of men in their 30's and beyond these days appear to have either very thin hair or receding hairline or bald patches. If this is you then for goodness sake get your hair cut short. If you are bald then one clever move you can make is getting a light tan to take away the billiard ball look.
If however you are like me and have a full head of hair then changing your hairstyle these days is a breeze. Start by looking at the media and hairstyles that you think yeah I could like that, print off a picture and pop off to a decent local hairdressers.
Finding a hairdresser that you like can sometimes take quite a long time. For men with hair, its grows back! so don't dispair as I have done many times if you get home and think OH NO. Wash it, try and style with a pomade (look below) and it'll be fine. If not hey there's always a hat ...
If cost is an issue then one thing you learn is very often hairdressers move around various salons and so sometimes you can get a pretty cheap haircut done by someone who used to work in one of the top local salons, just get talking you might be surprised.
Hair products. I have tried many usually because someone has waxed on how good the product is. My advice is wax off. Instead look for pomades. These combine a good level of hold with a attractive smell and are translucent.
