footwear
Ok shoes, thousands of makers so forgive me for missing a few.
So when looking at shoes want really a pair or two for work, some casual shoes and some sports trainers. Work shoes are literally a pain.
I used to buy from Marks and Spencer but the present range from £70 down is in my opinion pretty poor. The quality, fit just not up to the standard of previous years. There are exceptions and I will list these below. So work shoes I currently look at BASE London
Selected Footwear
base london
Base London make a wide range of shoes for all applications. The trick with Base shoes is to look carefully at the shoes from the top as opposite, this will allow you to gauge the width of the fit. I personally have the "Spencer" in Brown. Lovely fit and tight into the heel at the back with zero play. Cheapest place to buy is currently ASOS at £60.
cheaney and church
Why would you want to spend £200-£400 on a pair of work or smart casual shoes? Well potentially one pair could last you a lifetime. This is because many handmade shoe manufacturers will have a repair service so for £80 ish you can have your shoes repaired to practically new condition and returned to you. So look at a quality pair of shoes like this as an investment. Opposite are Cheaney "Deal" £350. These are beautiful shoes.
